One of the new courses coming to Pella High School aims to teach students about robotics.

Industrial Technology Teacher Brent Bambrook tells KNIA/KRLS News the new class aims to give students an opportunity to work with new technologies seen in industry.

“Robotics will mainly focus on teaching students skills that they can use in a workplace with a robotic system,” he says. “A lot of that technology, students have never got a chance to work with hands on.”

Bambrook says the class is sponsored by Vermeer, and will be taught in part by employees.

“They’re going to provide mentors for us so the students get a one-on-one relationship with people from industry,” he says. “The people Vermeer has provided us are from all over the mile, we have people from the front office and people that strictly work on robots.”
