V.F.W. Post 3519 in Knoxville held their Ruck for Vets event Saturday.
The event featured over 70 Knoxville residents and veterans carrying gear and rucking a 10k route that passed through the streets of Knoxville. The event was held to help the raise funds for the V.F.W Post 3519 Relief Fund. Post Commander Jake Beaver tells KNIA/KRLS News the relief fund was starting to run a little low due to the number of local veterans that needed some help. During the event the post received a $500 donation from the Knoxville Lions Club. A free will donation lunch was also held and free day passes to the Knoxville Recreation Center were also handed out to each participant. The KNIA/KRLS Lil Big Red Radio was on hand playing music and making announcements.
