Lt. Paul Haase tells KNIA/KRLS the program allows officers and the community to build a better relationship.

“So many times when we interact with the public, it’s in a negative setting or when someone’s in a crisis or been in an accident or gets pulled over for a traffic violation. so this is really an opportunity for our officers to interact with the public in a setting that’s very neutral,” Haase says.

Haase says they also encouraged residents to sign up for their Citizens Police Academy, which starts on September 18th.
