Clint Garner has always leaned on the advice of sprint car legends Sammy Swindell and Doug Wolfgang. Both drivers have won their fair share of races and both are Knoxville Nationals champions. Now Clint Garner can say he is on the same level as his racing heroes, as Garner led all 25 laps to win his first 360 Nationals last night at the Knoxville Raceway. Wayne Johnson took off from the start, but before the field could clear turn one, Greg Hodnett spun around causing a yellow and complete restart. On start number two, Garner nailed the green and never looked back. Johnson had a couple of chances to pass late in the race but could not find momentum. Brian Brown got in the action as he drove from 12th two second place with Wayne Johnson completing the podium. In the weekly 305 program, Rookie Eric Bridger all but clinched the points title with a win in the A-Main. Tonight is the fourth night in four races for Knoxville, as the Weld Racing Capitani Classic will bring in close to 70 410 cars in the last chance tune up before the Knoxville Nationals.
