The Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance presented a check to the Pella Fire Department this evening.
The PACE Alliance raised $2600 at their annual golf outing on August 25th. PACE Alliance Golf Committee Co-Chair Tim Te Grootenhuis tells KNIA/KRLS News the group organized this year’s golf outing with an extra purpose in mind.
“The committee not only wanted a fun networking event with lots of engagement from members, but do something to give back to both the business and residents of Pella and the surrounding area. The Pella City and Rural Fire Departments rely on portable multi-gas alert monitors to keep you and the firemen safe during a rescue by monitoring the air in confined spaces such as a home, business or other small space. We wanted to make sure they had the equipment they need to keep everyone safe,” Te Grootenhuis says.
The Pella Fire Department thanked the PACE Alliance for their contribution at the check presentation. The PACE golf committee also consists of Vicki Cowman, Cyndi Atkins, Leah Hillman, Alison Muller-Heit and Sarah Treft. Under the new PACE Alliance structure more than 140 members are working on various aspects of economic and business development, as well as quality of life.
