The No. 4 Pella Christian team is looking to start their Class 1A District 5 title defense against a long-time sports rival tonight on Eagle Lane.

Des Moines Christian comes to the Tulip City for the opening round of district play. Pella Christian is 2-0 after a drubbing of the Blue Demons of Albia last week, and soundly defeated their rival Lions 72-0 a season ago.

Des Moines Christian struggled in non-district competition, mustering a 3rd-worst in class 1A 75 yards per game and 12 points over the two contests.

Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski is aware of the slow start the opponent has, and he hopes the Eagles are ready to take advantage of the opportunities they are given.

Coverage of Pella Christian and Des Moines Christian at Eagle Lane begins with pregame coverage at 6:30, and opening kickoff at 7 on 92.1 KRLS, with Andrew Schneider and Larry Hessing calling the action.
