A Newton man was arrested Thursday following a traffic stop in Knoxville.
According to court documents 34-year-old Dustin Vos was pulled over by law enforcement after dark because the vehicle he was driving had no working license plate lights. During the traffic stop Vos told the officers he did not have a valid driver’s license. Vos was arrested for driving on a suspended license. While performing a search, officers located a clear bag with a crystal-like substance inside as well as two hypodermic needles. Vos told the officers the substance was methamphetamine. A field test performed by the officers also tested positive for methamphetamine. A check of Vos’s criminal history showed two prior convictions of possession of a controlled substance for methamphetamine in 2010 and 2015. Vos is charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense, a class D felony, driving under suspension, failure to provide proof of financial liability, improper plate lamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.
