The city of Knoxville began the first session of their first ever Leadership academy Tuesday evening.

The academy is designed to give attendees an opportunity to learn more about their local government while encouraging them to be more informed. Participant in the academy, Jacqueline Sharp tells KNIA/KRLS News people sit at home and question why things are done and she felt it was a way to get more informed and learn the reasons behind why certain things are done. Sessions will be held each Tuesday evening in September until the last session on Monday, October 2nd at which time participants will be recognized during the Knoxville City Council meeting.
