Pella Christian’s volleyball team was unable to work around the dominate Dallas Center-Grimes block in a loss to the Fillies (25-23, 17-25, 12-25, 20-25).
The Eagles played their best set in the first, edging out DCG. But the Fillies filled numerous hitting lanes, blocking 23 of the Eagles swings for 32 combined solo and assisted rejections on the evening.
Pella Christian Head Coach John Evenhouse says an uneven night of passing lessened the ability of the team to hit more creative shots. P.C.’s hitters struggled with 25 hitting errors as well. Mary Kate Bandstra had seven kills and Reann Fopma tallied three aces.
The Eagles fall to 13-12 and 4-3 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, and are off until Thursday, October 12th at the conference tournament in Norwalk.
