In an era of Pella football where they continue to do things that no Little Dutch team has ever done before, this year’s squad can make history Friday night.
Coach Jay McKinstrey’s club has already locked up its 10th district championship in the last 11 seasons, but he says a win Friday would make it even more special.
“That’d be the fifth year in a row that we’d be an undefeated district champion, which would be pretty neat. I told the kids, maybe they can make some history this week as far as being the first team at Pella to do five in row undefeated. That’s really cool.”
Pella has already clinched a playoff berth and a first round home game. A win Friday could also help their cause as the Iowa High School Athletic Association puts together the bracket for the class 3-A playoffs.
The Little Dutch will host Nevada to close out the 2017 regular season.
