Marion County Public Health will host a Marion County Food Stakeholders Round Table Discussion on Friday, November 3rd.
Marion County Public Health Project Director Larissa Van Donselaar tells KNIA/KRLS News that food insecurity continues to be a top barrier to people across Marion County. The department is inviting anyone who is employed by a food pantry, volunteers who serve at a food pantry, is part of a school lunch or back pack program, or is passionate about feeding people in the community to attend the discussion. The discussion will include a presentation about food insecurity in Marion County, current pantry practices, needs and additional resources and the establishment of a Marion County Food Coalition.
