A single vehicle rollover accident occurred Saturday evening west of Knoxville.

Just before 8 p.m. Saturday, 56-year-old Harry Herron of Springfield, Missouri was headed westbound on Highway 92 at mile marker 69 when he lost control of his 2000 Subaru Outback, overcorrected and rolled the vehicle in the ditch north of the highway. Herron who, according to the Iowa State Patrol, was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle and was found unconscious 100 feet from where the vehicle came to rest. Herron was transported by Mercy One helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol all responded to the scene.
