The Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau made a special presentation at the Pella City Council meeting Tuesday.

The Pella CVB discussed how they plan to move forward as an organization and how they aim to promote tourism in the coming year. The intention of the CVB is to become separate from the PACE Alliance so they can focus more heavily on promoting tourism. They noted the successes of the group in how the Hotel-Motel tax has grown by 26% in the past year and other highlights about their work in attracting visitors to the community.

After the presentation, the council expressed their support of the separation, and will discuss funding and how they will help the transition at a later meeting. Council members also expressed their desire to see the CVB and PACE Alliance continue to work together in the future.
