Despite not scoring in the first quarter, the Pleasantville Trojan girls basketball team took down I-35 last night at home 41-29, while the Trojan boys won 44-40 to complete the Pride of Iowa Conference sweep.
The slow start would eventually whip into a defensive frenzy, as the Trojans forced a host of turnovers in the second half and were led on offense by Kelsee Van Haalen and her 20 points. Jordan Dursky added 7, while Sydnee McKinney also scored 7.
On the boys side, they were once again balanced in a close victory. Devon Dursky was the only Trojan in double digits leading the team with 10, while Owen Worthington, Gauge Van Haalen, and Brant Wilkins all contributed 8.
The Trojan girls improve to 3-1 on the season, the boys are now 3-0, and both teams will make the long road trip to Corning to play Southwest Valley Friday night in a game that can be heard live on our KNIA3 stream.
