The Pella Christian boys and girls kick off their conference competition tonight when they travel to Oskaloosa.

For the girls, they will look to continue a string of success against the Indians, as they’ve won the previous 22 matchups dating back to 2006. The Eagles are 2-1 in 2017.

Pella Christian’s boys are facing an early season test against what head coach Larry Hessing has called one of the two favorites to win the Little Hawkeye Conference.

“They’ve got two terrific long basketball players at 6’10” and 6’9” and a point guard who’s been a varsity player for four years. It’s going to be a tall task, literally, and we’ve got to figure out how we can best play them.”

In their season openers earlier this week, Oskaloosa beat Fairfield 64-52, while P.C. fell to ADM in tough fashion 65-63 after holding an 11 point lead to begin the 4th quarter.

Coverage from Oskaloosa High School begins at 6 p.m. on KRLS2 at www.kniakrls.com, with both games of the doubleheader live. Trevor Castle and Wynne Veenstra will call all the action.
