Scoring 66 points in the first half to set a school record, the Simpson Storm women’s basketball team blew out Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday 108-73 to win their second straight conference game.

Thirteen shots from beyond the arc fell for the Storm, as they dominated in the first half with runs of 11 points and 16 points unanswered to build a 35 point lead at half. Janey Botkins hit six three pointers and scored 19, while Noreen Morrow scored 21 points and grabbed 10 boards in the victory.

A career day for Tyler Stumbo was not enough to lead the Storm men’s squad past the Prairie Wolves on Saturday, as they fell 94-85. Stumbo scored 33 points in his first ever start for the Storm, who had to charge back from double digit deficits at multiple points throughout the game. The Storm had it within one point at 84-83 and had possession, but couldn’t convert as the Prairie Wolves answered back on multiple times down the floor to seal the victory.

The women are now 5-2 and 2-0 in conference play, while the men are 2-5 and 0-2, and both teams will travel to Dubuque on Wednesday.
