A newly-elected city council member served for her first meeting last night.

Lynn Hinga Branderhorst represents Pella Ward One, and tells KNIA/KRLS News she looks forward to bettering the community she calls home. She says the decision to run for the seat took awhile to make, but ultimately, her desire to help Pella grow and thrive was why she put her name on the ballot.

“The biggest decision to run came from my love of this community, and my respect for Pella and its citizens,” she says. “I want to bring a different and unique perspective as to some of the issues our community is facing right now.”

Branderhorst’s top priority as she joins the council is to further the development of housing options in the community.
