The Eagles basketball teams split with their rivals from Des Moines in non-conference action in Urbandale Saturday.

Pella Christian girls held off a late charge from Des Moines Christian, winning 40-37, while the boys never caught up to the Lions in a 52-36 loss.

The Eagles girls played a solid 3rd quarter defensively and eventually built a ten point lead late in the game, only to see their rivals come charging back to within in a possession.

Kaley Wilson scored 12 for P.C., with a 10 point, 9 rebound effort for Morgan Fopma and a 10-point night for Lizzy Posthuma.

Pella Christian’s boys fell behind early to the Lions and were never able to gain traction in the nightcap. Jake Pringle knocked down four-threes and Jayden Huisman tacked on nine.

The Eagles girls improve to 9-5 and are off until Friday when they welcome Oskaloosa, while the Pella Christian boys fall to 4-8 and host West Marshall for a single varsity contest Monday.
