Iowa DOT Plow Cam on Highway 163 Sunday at 7:45 p.m. near Pella

A fast-moving snow system is making travel difficult this evening throughout Marion County and central Iowa.

According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, as of 8 p.m., Highways 163, 14, 92, and 5 are all completely covered, and visibility is very low. The Marion County Road Department will have crews responding at 4 a.m. Monday morning to clear county roads.

In total, up to 2″ is expected by the end of the night. Winds gusting up to 30 MPH will also lower visibility and cause some drifting. Area schools have started to delay classes as well, find the latest list here.
Multiple emergency crews are also responding to a car crash on Highway 163 in the westbound lanes near Mile Marker 35. Expect delays while traveling.
