Local FIRST Tech Challenge robotics teams begin the competition season in Ottumwa today.

Elyse Ogbourne with Recharged Robotics in Pella tells KNIA/KRLS News FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics program focuses on science, technology, and teamwork. She says today’s event will eliminate half of the teams in attendance, while the rest advance to the next round of competition. Last year, Recharged Robotics finished in the World Finals in St. Louis.

The FIRST Tech Challenge competitions are the result of focused brainstorming, dedicated mentoring, project timelines and teamwork.
