A strong defensive effort led to the Pleasantville Trojan boys basketball team to take down Chariton 46-33 last night in a Saturday non-conference tilt, while the girls fell to the strong Chargers squad 59-28.

Owen Worthington led the Trojan boys with a 16 point performance, while Kyle Amendt had 11 and Gauge Van Haalen 10 for the Trojans to stay undefeated in 2018, holding the Chargers to over 20 points under their season average.

The Trojan girls stayed with the 9-2 class 3A Chargers in the first half, before a big third quarter run blew the game open. Sydnee Mckinney led the team with 7 points, while Jordan Dursky and Kelsee Van Haalen each had 6.

The boys are now 7-2, the girls are 5-5, and both teams will next play on Tuesday at Martensdale-St. Mary’s.
