The Pleasantville Trojan boys basketball team stayed undefeated in 2018 with a victory over Nodaway Valley last night 63-56. The girls fell to the Wolverines 43-28.

The Trojans have been holding opponents to an average of just 37 points per game coming into the contest, but a hot Nodaway Valley team continued to pour points on the Trojans defense. The good news for the Trojans, their offense that normally scores just 49 points per game picked up the slack. Gauge Van Haalen had 16 points to lead the offense, while Owen Worthington scored 15.

On the girls side, Kelsee Van Haalen scored 14 points, and Sydnee McKinney scored 8, but the offense as a whole just couldn’t convert opportunities.

The boys improve to 9-2 on the season, the girls fall to 5-7, and both teams will next play on Tuesday at Central Decatur.
