Jason Carter entered a written not guilty plea Wednesday for the 1st degree murder charge stemming from the homicide of his mother Shirley Carter on June 19th, 2015.

Carter was found liable for the death of his mother on December 15th, following a lengthy civil trial brought against him by his father Bill Carter. Two days later, Jason was arrested and charged with the murder of Shirley. Jason Carter has also waived his right to a speedy trial.
