The new “A-to-Z Foodie Trail” aims to encourage both visitors and residents alike to see the unique food options available in the area.
Marion County Development Commission Executive Director Carla Eysink tells KNIA/KRLS News a partnership has formed between Mahaska County, Marion County, and the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau to highlight unique food and drink options from Oskaloosa, Leighton, Pella, Knoxville, and Pleasantville.
“We tried to identity stops in Marion and Mahaska County, kind of in a loop…that have either something that they make that’s really unique to their business and unique to the area, and something that’s received awards from another outside source, and something that the public can go and actually purchase.”
She says numerous businesses are featured for an item that would fit a letter of the alphabet that is exclusive to the area.
“It’s an A-to-Z trail, so you can go and take your picture at each of the 26 stops of the alphabet, and get them on there and share them with us,” she says.
