Hayden Vroom and Makenna Van Dyke were selected by their peers as the 2018 Pella Christian Homecoming King and Queen.
Both tell KNIA/KRLS they were honored to serve as the school’s royalty. Vroom is president of the Student Council and was a senior captain on the 2017 State Semifinalist Football Team, and plans to run track this fall. Van Dyke played volleyball and will be a senior leader on this spring’s Eagles soccer team. Hayden will attend Central College next fall to study education and play football, and Makenna is heading to Dordt College to study elementary education.
Nominees for king and queen also included Sophie Howerzyl, Erica Van Soelen, Mara Juffer, Kandace Hofman, Alex Huisman, Sam Brouwer, Ryan Van Gilst, and Brenden Six.
Pella Christian High School celebrated homecoming Friday night at the basketball games, by inviting alumni for a time of fellowship, as well as recognizing the 1993 state championship basketball team and other alumni.
