A Hamilton man was arrested Sunday following a report of a stolen vehicle.

At approximately 8:34 a.m. Sunday morning law enforcement responded to a report that a vehicle had been stolen from a parking lot in the 1100 block of Woodland Drive and was headed eastbound on Larson Street. Upon arrival, witnesses told police they had observed 30-year-old Joshua Goemaat of Hamilton burglarizing one of their vehicles before getting into another one and driving away. Officers were shown a cell phone video from a witness that showed Goemaat getting in the vehicle and backing it out of the parking lot. Goemaat and the vehicle were located in the 1400 block of West Jackson Street just after 10 a.m. According to court documents, Goemaat was observed in the passenger side tearing the dash and glove box apart. When questioned by police, Goemaat had admitted to using methamphetamine the night prior and was breathing heavy and having body tremors. While speaking with officers, Goemaat took out his wallet and pressed it three times and stated that he had started the truck. Goemaat was observed by officers seeing people that were not there and told police he was on “White Fang” and that “White Fang” was a mixture of the world’s most venomous spiders and snakes venom. Goemaat was arrested and charged with burglary 3rd degree, a class D felony, theft 2nd degree a class D felony, one count criminal mischief 4th degree, one count criminal mischief 5th degree, operating while intoxicated and driving while suspended.
