The Knoxville Girls Basketball squad’s start last night against Oskaloosa was the opposite of what they thought it would be. Trailing 18-14 after one quarter, the Panthers would outscore the Indians the rest of the way 55-20 to win 69-38 and advance to the Class 4A regional semi-finals in a game heard live on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA. Knoxville went on a 29-3 run in the second quarter, which turned into a 38-5 run before the Panthers starting putting in the subs to play the last few minutes out. Coach Jim Uitermarkt told KNIA/KRLS Sports, he made some of his players watch for a few minutes early and they responded with great defense. Katie Keitges had 28 points to lead Knoxville while Maggie Wilkins scored 15. Knoxville is now 16-6 on the season and will travel to Pella on Saturday for the regional semi-final.
