The Knoxville High School FFA took part in and played hose to the Sub Districts for Leadership Career Development Events (CDE’s) Monday as part of National FFA Week.
Knoxville senior’s Brenda Goff and Makenzie Varner tell KNIA/KRLS News the purpose of the CDE’s is to develop communications skills, leadership and respect for others. Varner says the CDE’s are fun opportunities for students to enhance their skills through various events. The CDE’s cover job skills in everything from communications to mechanics. Twelve area schools took part in the events. CDE’s that were featured included, creed speaking, public speaking, job interviews, ag sales, ag broadcasting, extemporaneous speaking, conduct of meetings, parliamentary procedures and chapter programs. Schools which took part in the event include; Melcher Dallas, Corydon, Seymour, Lynnville Sully, Moulton-Udell, Pella, Pleasantville, Chariton, Albia, Southeast Warren, Centerville, Moravia and host Knoxville.
