Despite late season momentum and getting healthy at the right time, the Pella Christian girls basketball team came up short in their efforts to move on the postseason last week.
Head Coach Kevin Van Maanen says their loss to Pekin was heartbreaking, especially for two seniors that provided a big boost to the team all year — Kaley Wilson and Mara Juffer.
Wilson finished with 11.5 points per game and led the Eagles with 36 three-pointers made. Juffer avarege 3.2 per contest and was the Eagles top foul shooter, based on percentage, at 88.9 on the season.
Pella Christian finished at 12-11 after falling to Pekin Friday night.
