A low to near normal risk of flooding remains throughout most of the region according to the latest Spring Flood Outlook from the National Weather Service.

The report includes the Des Moines and Skunk Rivers in the report. Below normal snowpack and soil moisture, as well as abnormally dry conditions in south central Iowa have lowered the risk of river flooding over the next few months. Beginning in early April, the National Weather Service will issue flood probabilities on a monthly basis. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for the latest weather information.
