A Democratic candidate for Iowa Secretary of State made a stop in Pella Saturday.
Deidre DeJear came to the Red Rock Social Justice Advocates meeting to speak about her candidacy. DeJear tells KNIA/KRLS News a key in the upcoming election is educating all voters about the changes in Iowa voting law passed by the Iowa Legislature, and to ensure all residents have a voice at the polls.
DeJear is a business owner based in Des Moines. She will run against Jim Mowrer in the primary election June 5th, with the winner facing Incumbent Republican Secretary of State Paul Pate this November.
