The Marion County Republican Convention was held on Saturday at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum.

Delegates, junior delegates, and alternate delegates all participated, with all candidates who have declared their intention to run for seats given speaking opportunities. Chair of the Marion County Republicans T. Waldmann-Williams tells KNIA/KRLS News the meeting is important because it helps to build the grassroots political movement, and it lets Marion County residents build their parties platform which they approve at the district level and eventually to the state level. The Marion County Democratic Convention will take place on March 24th in the Marion County Extension Office gym.
