Central College associate head coach Jim Fuller has been tabbed the Division III national men’s assistant coach of the year for the indoor track and field season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Qualifying two athletes into the heptathlon under Fuller’s tutelage, Central finished in a tie for ninth place at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Sophomore Will Daniels became Central’s 33rd individual national champion in school history while Ryan Kruse finished third. The duo are the fourth and fifth male athletes to earn All-American status in a combined event at Central since 2011.

In his fifth year working with the Dutch multi-event athletes, Fuller has coached five Iowa Conference champions and 25 all-conference honorees across both genders.
