The Knoxville Hy-Vee and KNIA/KRLS Radio presented the Marion County Humane Society with over $1500 of pet food yesterday.

General Manager of the Knoxville Hy-Vee Kelly Kayser tells KNIA/KRLS News the store had some extra inventory and it was a good way to give back to the community. Kayser went on to say that donations are the lifeblood of all shelters, whether for pets or people, and that she has seen the positive effect they can have. Shelby Kennedy with the Marion County Humane Society tells KNIA/KRLS News that they are accepting all donations whether it is pet food, cash, or time, and you can visit their Facebook page to see a wishlist of the items they need the most.
