A unique drive-thru restaurant in Pella serving a menu of Dutch recipes has announced an opening date.
Dutchfix on West Washington Street in Pella will tentatively open on Saturday, April 14th. Co-owner Valerie Bandstra tells KNIA/KRLS News they developed concept of a Dutch food drive-thru after seeing a growing desire in the community for food native to the Netherlands year-round.
“The idea behind Dutchfix is really we wanted to kind of bring back traditional Dutch food to Pella,” she says, “So we have the bakeries and we have the meat markets–which are just amazing, and we’re actually going to be using them in a lot of our menu, but we really felt like there was a missing component with authentic Dutch food that we could offer in a fun and creative way, but also a convenient way to families in Pella, both to locals and tourists alike.”
Bandstra says they are also relying mostly on local food suppliers — including the community’s meat markets, bakeries, and cheese makers.
