A Lovilla man was arrested in Knoxville on drug trafficking charges.
According to court documents, 52-year-old Patrick Anderson was pulled over by Knoxville Police after being observed crossing the center of the roadway before pulling back and nearly hitting the curb. After the officer noticed a glass pipe and asked Anderson to get out of the vehicle, the officer noticed a heat-sealed baggie of a white crystalline substance that field tested positive for meth and a knife with a wooden handle. Anderson admitted to the officer that he had used meth a few days prior, and was currently under the influence of marijuana, but the meth was not his and that someone had dropped it by his feet.
After a field sobriety test that showed a blood-alcohol content of .000, the officer requested a chemical test, which Anderson refused. Anderson was ultimately charged with drug trafficking of between 5g-100kg of methamphetamine, a class B felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, OWI first offense, and carrying weapons 6-8 inches in length.
