Members of the Knoxville Senior Center were presented with a history of the Collins Memorial Hospital and Mater Clinic which used to reside in the senior center building.

Dwight Mater & Dr. Earl McKeever both spoke about the history of the building and how it was developed into the hospital and clinic, while Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada also spoke about the transition into City Hall and the Senior Center. Dr. McKeever tells KNIA/KRLS News the hospital was very advanced for its time including him witnessing an electric shock to restart the heart during cardiac arrest, which was very new.
