The Knoxville Community School District has selected Ryan Paulsen as their new Athletic Director.

Paulsen previously served as the Athletic Director at Okoboji High School, as well as the boys basketball coach. The interview process included three other candidates, a face-to-face meeting with a community advisory committee, and a tour of Knoxville. Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News she called Paulsen to welcome him aboard, and that she believes he will be a great asset.

Formal approval will come from the Knoxville School Board meeting on May 7, although there may be a special session before then to approve the hire. Pearson also said she doesn’t expect any opposition from the board. Outgoing Knoxville Athletic Director Ryan Rump has taken the same position in the Newton School District.
