The Pella boys track team hung tough with large school competition at the Waukee Invitational last night.

They earned first place finishes with the Shuttle Hurdle Relay of Gabe Thomas, Curtis Ware, Jordan Buma, and Avery Van Zee, with Van Zee posting a season-low 55.27 seconds in the 400 hurdles as well for a win in that event. Tony Schmitz was also tops in the 800 meters. Nick De Jong and Cody Huisman were second in shotput and discus respectively. The boys are next in action when they join the girls at the Grinnell Invitational Tuesday.
