Multiple emergency crews responded to a fire in rural Knoxville Monday night.

Firefighters arrived at 1621 Lucas Dr. in rural Knoxville at approximately 8 p.m.. A cause of the fire has not yet been determined, no injuries were reported, and the only contents of the barn were wood and scrap metal. The barn was located on property owned by State Trooper Jon Thorup, who is running for Iowa House District 28. Knoxville Township Rural Fire, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Pella Fire, Clay Township Rural Fire, Indiana Township Rural Fire, the Knoxville Police Department, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department all responded to the call.
