Multiple local law enforcement agencies are accepting unused and expired prescription drugs today.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Pella Police Department, Monroe Police Department, and Melcher-Dallas Police Department are all open on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for collection, in conjunction with a Drug Enforcement Administration program. They will accept unused pills or patches, and the service is free to all using the program, with participants able to stay anonymous and with no questions asked about what is brought in.

Pella and Marion County’s collection sites will be their main lobbies at their police departments, while the events in Monroe and Melcher-Dallas will be at their respective city halls.
