By this time next week, the first checkered flag will have fallen at the Knoxville Raceway. Saturday, is the 65th season opener and 2018 should have no lack of excitement at the half-mile. Two of the three class champions will return to defend their titles. Eric Bridger was a rookie sensation last season and may have taken several people by surprise in the 305 division. After an engine failure in last year’s season opener while leading, he went on to post finishes no worse than ninth the rest of the season enroute to the track title. He will be joined by several of the same cast of drivers plus a couple of rookies in 2018. Matt Moro won his second track championship in the 360 class last year running down Clint Garner to win the title while posting top six finishes the final eight weekly races of 2017. There will be different champion in the 410s, as Ian Madsen is travelling with the World of Outlaws, however there will be no shortage of contenders including Brian Brown, Austin McCarl, Terry McCarl, and others. We will have complete coverage on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA each week.
