For the second straight Saturday night, Austin McCarl was the class of the 410 field. The third generation driver found victory lane for the second consecutive week to make his record perfect at the Knoxville Raceway in 2018. McCarl had to survive a late race restart and challenge from runner-up Brooke Tatnell, who finished in that position last week as well. The race of the night was the 360s as Clint Garner blew his motor while leading, then it became Sawyer Phillips’ turn to lead…while he went the distance, Jamie Ball cooked his motor to bring out a yellow and Ryan Giles made a last lap pass on Phillips to get the win. Giles told KNIA/KRLS when they had the green/white/checkered restart they nearly touched, and was surprised at where Phillips put his car on the final lap. Matthew Stelzer took the win in the 305s. Stelzer battled motor issues last week and told KNIA/KRLS Sports his power plant still is not working perfectly, but was happy it held up to get his first win of the season. Next week Brian Brown and Kerry Madsen are scheduled to race at Knoxville along with all the other cast of characters.
