A Melcher-Dallas man was arrested for abandonment/neglect of a dependent person Monday.
According to court documents, the Melcher-Dallas Police Department answered a call about a child in the roadway without guardian supervision. After investigation, the police found that the four-year-old child was in the care of Alexander Sposeto, who told police during questioning he was not aware of the child’s whereabouts. Multiple witness statements collected by the Melcher-Dallas police say the child being outside without supervision is a reoccurring event. Sposeto was charged with abandonment/neglect of a dependent person, a class C felony, and transported to the Marion County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
