The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday.

The board confirmed personnel retiring, transfers, and hirings, including new activities director Ryan Paulsen. The board signed a letter of intent with Red Lion Renewables, a solar energy company from Norwalk. The letter, which the City of Knoxville has also signed, gives the board 90 days to negotiate with Red Lion Renewables on whether solar energy would be a viable option for the school buildings to use. The board approved the purchase of two 77 passenger Hoglund buses for $83,500, and the board approved all student program requests including the Science Club fundraiser and trip request to the east coast. The board also went into closed session to evaluate personnel.
