One local legislator played a pivotal role in the tax relief bill passed in the Iowa Legislature.

Representative Guy Vander Linden serves as chair of the Iowa House Ways and Means Committee, and tells KNIA/KRLS News the final version was a compromise between the Iowa House and Senate. Vander Linden says the key provision that prevents a significant drawback on revenue available for the state are triggers in place after the first cuts are implemented that prevent further cuts if the amount of money available in state coffers doesn’t meet four percent growth annually.

Vander Linden is resigning from House District 28 at the end of this term.
