On a warm night the PCM girls’ soccer team saw their season come to a close after a tough 2-1 loss to Fairfield in the first round of regionals.
The Mustangs got out to a quick start with a goal in the first 10 minutes of the contest by Emma George. With PCM leading 1-0, the second leading scorer in the Southeast Conference Kristin Burnstedt went to work scoring back-to-back goals for the Trojans. The 2-1 game stayed true throughout and Fairfield punched their ticket to the next round and a meeting with Mount Pleasant next week. The Mustangs conclude their season at 3-9 and lose McKeeley Tjaden, Valentine Veighe, Annalee Workman, and Abby Jones to graduation.
