It was a pair of exciting finishes for the PCM baseball and softball teams Wednesday night, as both came out on top of one run ball games against Saydel.

In the softball contest the Mustangs were the comeback kids, as they rallied in the seventh to seize a 6-5 win. PCM trailed 5-4 heading into the final frame when they put traffic on the base paths and ultimately won on a walk off sac fly from Madison Foster to plate Regan Freland. Freland led the team with three of their six hits and one RBI. Maya Hegwood got the win in the circle giving up seven hits and just two earned runs. Head Coach Scott Bridges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he is proud of his young team battling back in the seventh and it gives them confidence for the future. PCM picks up their first win of the year to move to 1-1.

In the baseball contest the Mustangs utilized some small ball to escape with a 3-2 victory. Dane Owens had a clutch two RBI single to lead the offense. Reed Worth was responsible for the other run on a sac fly. Noah Henkenius was solid on the bump going 5 1/3 innings of three hit ball and giving up two runs. Brayton Van Dyke sealed the win for the Mustangs going 1-2-3 in the seventh to collect the save. Head Coach Jeff Lindsay tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it is a big victory for the program because Saydel had a lot of comparisons to Roland-Story, a team that shut the Mustangs out last week. PCM improves to 2-1 after the win. Both Mustang teams hit the road to Gilbert tomorrow.
