In nail-biting fashion, the PCM baseball team was able to come up with a road win edging out Eddyville-Blakesburg 7-6 last night.

The game was tied at 5-5 heading into the final frame when a pair of runs gave the Mustangs the lead. After four walks in the bottom of the seventh Brayton Van Dyke was able to do enough to hold on to collect the save. Dane Owens got the win on the bump giving up six hits and three earned runs. Preston Van Wyk and Noah Henkenius led the offense with three hits apiece. Freshman Caleb Duinink added a pair of hits and two RBI. PCM improves to 4-3 on the year.

The Carlisle softball team proved why they are one of the top ranked teams in class 4A, as they took care of business against PCM 10-1. The Mustangs could only muster up four hits in the loss including Camryn Wignall with a pair. Regan Freland had the lone RBI with a single. Maya Hegwood took the loss in the circle. Despite the loss head coach Scott Bridges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he thought the defense turned a corner and played really well against one of the best offenses in the state. The Mustangs drop to 2-3.

Both teams host South Hamilton today.
