Planning and fundraising for the Pleasantville Jasper St. project is well underway, with the goal of the new street becoming a roadway that will sustain truck traffic, give visitors an easier path through Pleasantville, and bring in commuters through the downtown area that would normally go around the city.

Pleasantville City Manager Joe Mrstik tells KNIA/KRLS News that without the project, many drivers bypass the city and won’t allow visitors to see the real Pleasantville because it’s a great town with great facilities, and now drivers see some of the older buildings that are no longer in use because of the lack of traffic and that doesn’t represent the town very well. Snyder and Associates, who are carrying out the project, are currently in the process of obtaining grants and further fundraising to go along with the Marion County Board of Supervisors contributing $250,000 to the project.
